Gerard J. van Essen, DVM, General Manager, co-founded TeleMetronics Biomedical. In addition to serving as an officer of the company, Gerard van Essen is Head of Animal Services & Pathology at MSD Animal Health. Gerard van Essen founded TeleMetronics Biometry and managed the company’s research projects for ESA. He has been a horse veterinarian for 13 years, an animal scientist at Wageningen University and Research Centre for 5 years and an entrepreneur in biotelemetry for 9 years. Gerard van Essen graduated in veterinary science at Utrecht University and is preparing a Ph.D. at the Erasmus Medical Centre in Rotterdam.

Lucas P.J.J. Noldus, Ph.D., Business Development Manager, co-founded TeleMetronics Biomedical. In addition to serving as an officer of the company, Dr. Noldus is the managing director of Noldus Information Technology, a leading manufacturer of software tools and integrated solutions for behavioral research, headquartered in Wageningen, The Netherlands. Lucas Noldus has more than 20 years of experience in the development and commercialization of innovative research tools. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed papers and conference presentations about methods and techniques in behavioral research. Dr. Noldus is also the chairman of the Bioscience Forum and member of the Netherlands Academy of Technology and Innovation. Dr. Noldus earned his M.Sc. in biology from Leiden University and his Ph.D. from Wageningen University.
